South Park just finished up one if its weirdest multi story arches in show history with the "Coon and Friends" saga.

I did love the reveal of Mysterion's identity as well as now we know the secret of Kenny dying/showing up the next day.

That was my favorite show.  The 2nd to last episode was possibly the best hour of TV I've ever seen.
wow i actually agree with you.

i really liked that show and where it was heading.

I only watched the pilot of Rubicon. Now that it's DOA, is there any point to watching the entire season? Does the show end on a cliffhanger or with everything unresolved, or would I get a satisfying experience watching the episodes produced?

noooo!!

I just watched it from 11-12. I feel sorry for you. The show is awesome. I feel bad for all of us, though, that it's only 6 episodes S1. S2 is 13, however.

There's an encore at 1.  Guess I'm staying up until 2 tonight.  Or I can wait until they put it on the web.

EDIT - looks like they aren't putting the eps online, just the first one.

This episode was definitely slow, but it equally was the best freaking hour I've watched this season. Damn, the drama between his wife and his "best friend" is just an awesome storyline. Just freaking awesome. I love this show.

Question though, and I'll put it in spoilers since Chief hasn't watched it yet. Why the hell did the guy cut his freaking hand off? I was thinking at the start of the show, how can he break his thumb? Since apparently if you snap your thumb you can get out of handcuffs. But fine, assume that is Hollywood BS or impractical. Why the freak don't you just cut your thumb off? Boom, you're out. You definitively get out of handcuffs if you cut your thumb off. Why the hell would you cut your entire hand off? Even an idiot as dumb as the character is made out to be should be able to figure that out. Cutting his entire hand off, with zombies on the loose no less? Yeah, smart move there, Mr. Svenning (Mallrats reference.)

Damn it sucks this is just six episodes. Going to be painful to get six episodes, then wait over a year for anymore. I hope there is at least talk of the second season having more episodes. Six is just ridiculously too few.

I may be dumb but I didn't know that. Maybe they were saying he is in the same boat as me. :\ Then again, I've never thought about being handcuffed so I would've never knew that. I have seen the ankle cuff and that was in Saw 3 when Donnie Walhberg was a beast and broke his ankle to get out of the cuff (probably the most badass thing I've ever seen on film). I did love this hour of episode. They made the anticipation of Rick seeing his wife amazing. The music was pretty good too.

I really love all the characters on this show. (ep 3 reference) The dude from Boondock Saints (new guy) is awesome.

Where'd you guys hear that the first season is only 6 eps?  That sucks :?

Also, I believe they've already stated that the second season would be 12-13 eps.

Now that I've seen it, I'm with Coladar.  What he did makes no sense to me.

You cannot get out of handcuffs by breaking your thumb.  If cuffs are properly put on you would have to cut the thumb off right at the base of the wrist which is almost impossible to get to except on the underside of the cuff, so cutting off the whole hand is the only option.

BTW, the reason I know that about cuffs is one contract I work entails being a "bad guy" for federal police training.  The early recruits are learning everything, including cuffing, so we've been trained on every conceivable way to get out of any situation.  Breaking the thumb doesn't work if the cuffs are on right.

So...  cutting through cufflink with the hacksaw wouldn't work?

Not if they're real cuffs.  The blade on the hacksaw would dull and break before getting through.

So even if the breaking your thumb is BS, which I can believe, I still don't buy it's more logical to cut off your entire hand than to cut off your thumb. Difficult though it may be to remove enough to escape, there is no way the right move in such a situation is removing the entire hand, with the risk of bleeding to death and total loss of use of the entire hand versus removing the thumb and subsequent area further down. That much I can't buy.

I see that Top Gear USA will be debuting next week.  There's no way this lives up to the British version, right?

Probably not.  They'll dumb it down to suit what they believe their target audience will watch :?

not without Jeremy Clarkson.  The original USA version was supposed to have Adam Corolla, which could have been interesting.

1) No one has seen saw 1? Give it a rest

2) It reminds me of 2 mini-series, the 4400 and the original V. V the full length tv series was God-awful, but the 4400 became a compelling full show. I wonder which way it will go after the first six.

I'll give it a chance.  I'm not a car guy at all, not even a little bit, but I love the British version.  I've got about 20 episodes on the DVR and a couple buddies of mine come over every couple of weeks and knock off a few at a time.  It'd be great of the American version can get close to it.  I'm not expecting it though, but the Amercian version of The Office certainly outdid the original Brit version, but that wasn't the dynasty Top Gear is, so we'll see.

I'm not familiar enough with the seasons to know which one that is.

"Weight Loss," "Golden Ticket," the new boss played by Idris Elba, Pam finds out she's pregnant. My all-time favorite scene from The Office is the duel in the parking lot between Dwight and Andy over Angela. "The Prius is silent if he keeps it under 5 miles per hour."
