Duke Nukem Forever trailer is finally out.

Yes, you read that correctly.

I'll believe this when I see it.  I think I still have my Babbages deposit receipt from the '90s!

I don't buy it. I mean Jesus, how many times have they completely recoded the game? They've probably done ten different games by now. Just imagine if this had any similarity to the game they started. Hell, the game they had five years ago. It'd be so outdated as to be laughable. A trailer is the most progress they've shown, but this title is such a joke that you can't trust it until it's in your hands. And even then, you've probably just got a blank disc with fancy artwork. They should have canned this project a decade ago. The stigma attached with the name, combined with the fact that, like I said, they've probably done ten different games over the years... Just start a new project, and call it anything but Duke Nukem Forever.

They actually had a demo a few years ago, which got good reviews surprisingly.  The problem was they kept changing game engines.  Still, I'll believe it when I can play it.

You guys don't keep up with the news much huh?  DNF had a playable booth at PAX a few months back, made huge headlines all over the place.  It's for real, and they already announced a sale date - May 3.

That said, I certainly understand the believe-it-when-I-see-it posts

I hope this game has a offline/online multiplayer similar to the Nintendo 64 version. I cannot tell you the amount of times over the span of some years that my brothers and i played the multiplayer against a bot. It was very entertaining.

Dead Space 2 comes out Tuesday.

I bought Dead Space 2 yesterday... I played for a good 30 minutes... in the dark... with the speakers up...

Damn. Such an amazing yet effing scary atmosphere when you play it like that.

I'm on Chapter 7 now, savoring it as long as I can... I have a passion for survival horror. I've enjoyed it, but I do have to say I am disappointed they played it safe. It's almost page for page a copy of the original, couple different weapons and new levels. Everything else is ripped from the original. Even for games I love, I do like to see some innovation. Particularly nowadays when we can get new levels any day of the week via XBox Live and the Playstation Network. But yeah, it's definitely got some thrills in it.

Aww that's lame to hear. I'm like half way through the second chapter but I have enjoyed the environment so far. I definitely went into this sequel assuming it would most likely be the same game but it sucks to hear 7 chapters in, there hasn't been anything noticeably different. Aw well. I am looking forward to getting back into it tonight. :P

Just had to mention the first part of the game when you get the flashlight that I could tell the game was going to be fun at this moment: I entered a really dark room with only the flash light and had to weave around some tables and the only thing you saw was blood and a presence of a conflict. Even if something wasn't going to pop out (something did), the setting was just damn awesome.

Not to take this off topic, but ? Is Springfield Mall closing? I avoid Springfield in general like the plague ever since the mixing bowl crap, in Falls Church not a need to go there often. Used to go there quite often when Another Universe was there and I was a kid, so sad to hear if so.

Dead Island

I'm already giving it the trailer of the year award. Beautiful, sad, and most of all... it makes me want to play the game.

Quote
Imagine Borderlands set on the Just Cause 2 island with the Left 4 Dead style of zombies, featuring a quest system similar to Fallout 3 and the weapons system of Dead Rising 2. Blend all of that together, and you get Dead Island

BF3 may have just topped my hype meter this year.

Old Rank

1. Mass Effect 3
2. Gears of War 3
3. Modern Warfare 3
4. Halo: Combat Evolved "refurbished"

BF3 just pushed all of those down 1. Yeah, I like shooters. Wanna fight about it?

I'd say every 3-4 weeks successfully. In between they have a few minor roster updates but nothing major. They finally updated (today) the transfer of Fernando Torres to Chelsea and that happened Jan 27th.
