As far as I can tell there is zero difference between the boxed versions and the digital download on bnet.  I pre-downloaded the installer from bnet a few days ago and just used my boxed authentication key to install from that.  Didn't even take the DVD out of the sleeve.  The key gets tied to your bnet account, so I'm assuming that there's basically no resale value for the box/dvd itself, other than collectible purposes.  The only reason I even bothered with the box was so that I could start playing 13 hours earlier - digital download keys don't go on sale until 10am PDT today.

So how's StarCraft?

I was/am a professed C&C geek... so StarCraft will always be second in my heart.

Does SC2 outclass the latest C&C efforts?

You just saved me a trip. I totally forgot about this feature. I am going to download it when I get home from work!

I'm the wrong person to ask.  I used to be a huge C&C fan back in the day, but IMO the last great C&C game was Red Alert classic.  Then again the only one I even played after that was Tiberian sun, so again not the right guy to ask   Most of what I've heard about RA3 and C&C4 has been underwhelming.

I'm probably going to buy Starcraft after I finish playing Dawn of War II. They seem pretty similar, though.

I was up until 330am playing it, I thought that said enough :P

So far between learning all the new control improvements and being a bit of a perfectionist, I've only gotten through 4 missions (each mission has achievements and you can replay any of them to get the achievements you missed) so unless you want me to elaborate on a very limited subset of the game's features and units, there isn't a whole lot for me to say yet.

Pssh. I still play RA2 to this day.

That's the last great game C&C made.

Does Tiger Woods come with Ho's or do you supply your own?

It says B.Y.O.HO. on the box, sadly. :(

Damn, I just remembered how awful I am at starcraft. I'm so slow at building/massing troops.

Yeah, I 'turtle' (sorry Tom).

I'm terrible at rushes in RTS games.

This. I feel that making a good defense will get you places but then I realize, it doesnt. By the 10th-15th minute of the game they have 4 different bases with 4x resource income and all you have is a badass starting base. It sure looks cool.

I did just win a 1v1 with a sort of rush. A good feeling to get a win!

 Some dude just attacked with his drones and killed all of my SCVs and then said "gg you to much for me" and quits. Nice sense of humor.

It's going to be sad that this raptr thing shows how long I play.  At least it just started counting, not lifetime.  My one character has over 5 days of playtime.  Yes, over 100 hours.
