every shooter that finds its way to the XBox has to be like Halo. otherwise the hardcore Halo Fanboys that make up 70% of the XBox Shooter playerbase won't play it.

Halo is the holy grail and the gold standard of XBox shooters, and if your game isn't like Halo, then it is crap.

as someone who spent most of his time playing GRAW2 and Bad Company 1 on 360, and never really played Halo outside of finishing the campaign mode, i know this all to well.

Halo fanboys are like the borg. and they spend considerable effort to downtalk any and every upcoming shooter that isn't made by Bungie. just go take a look at any xbox forum for a non-Halo shooter.

Gears of War fanboys are the same, only not to the ridiculous extreme that Halo fanboys go.

I remember Halo fanboys on forums bashing Bioshock 1....just because it was a shooter and it wasn't Halo. even though Bioshock 1 had no multiplayer at all. those were the days of very frequent facepalms.

I liked CoD4, loved CoD: WaW and loath CoD:MW2. It is so ridiculous with all the kill streaks, ridiculous perks, and cornball tactics. I play hardcore only... and there is no way to play that killstreak fest in a real hardcore mode.

I need to find a new FPS series.

(Or I don't. I'm enjoying the extra free time

I'm so weak. I go into the store to pick up my copy of The Show and somehow the guy behind the counter also talks me into buying Battlefield 2: Bad Company.

I went to get BC2 but my place said their shipping was delayed so I have to get it Thursday (too busy tomorrow).

If your talkin bout PC I went for 2k and they didnt have it so I went to the gamestop on University/Greenbelt(?)

Wish I had money for Bad Company 2.

I picked up the show yesterday, pretty sweet and similar to last years. I haven't picked up BC2 yet because I would probably play 24/7 and my girlfriend would kill me.

OK so Gamestop is having that 50%+ store credit deal for trade ins.

I have about 10-12 games I am going to trade in (all games like MLB 2K7-2K9, Madden 07-09, etc etc) so I will probably get like 20 bucks store credit at most, if I am lucky.

I am in a pickle and don't know which to get:

Battlefield Bad Company 2
NHL 2010
Halo 3 ODST (used) - (I am getting it to beat as well as the Halo Reach beta that comes in May... See Here)

Got Napoleon: Total War today. I've never played a RTS game before. This stuff is confusing. Battle mode is awesome, but I get whooped every time.

sometime in the next 3-4 weeks, I am going to buy a console. most likely off craigslist.

still can't decide whether i want a PS3 or 360 though. didn't think this would be as tough of a decision as it is.

was thinking about building a PC to play WoW on, but decided against it.

I think it's awesome. I know it has that "stigma" of mouth-breather nerds in their parent's basement, but it really is a fun game. It can get addictive though.

If you ever wanted to try it, there is a 10 day free trial, plus get someone you know that is on to send you an invite using the "Recruit a Friend" program. You both get 300% XP when playing together, plus if you sign up for a full account, your friend gets a free month I think.

Other benefits of the RaF program are that as the recruit, for every 2 levels you gain, you get a "grant-able" level that you can grant to one of your friend's characters, and if you pay for at least 2 months of game time, your friend gets an exclusive flying mount, a rocket that can carry 2 people.

I want that damn rocket!
