It really is a shame we are so historically bad because the O's are a complete nightmare.

Nearly all of their "pitching prospects" have been mediocre, Wieters isn't doing anything special, Adam Jones has fallen back down to earth, and they are just helpless overall as a team.

The Yanks just swept them for the third straight time this year.

You're a little too hard on the O's.

While I think they have a pretty pathetic instructional organization, they've really added some legitimate talent.

Reimold/Jones/Markakis is a very legit outfield, and you have to give a little time for Tillman and Matusz to develop.

I hate to slobber on that bullcrap franchise or anything, but their improvement has been significant in terms of developing real, young talent.

What they need is a third baseman. They're almost the inverse of the Nats at this point.

and despite all of that "real, young talent" they aren't even close to competing. If it weren't for ridiculously bad seasons by the Nats and Royals they would have the worst record.

They will never compete in that division. never.

Their veterans are complete garbage. They just have to supplement that young talent with legitimate vets.

If they're willing to do that, they might be able to compete. If not, they'll maintain their status as a bullcrap franchise for years to come.

If you combined the Orioles and Nationals rosters, you'd have a pretty awesome team.

The Mets' AA team had the worst record of any minor-league team at any level. The fourth-worst minor league team this year was the Mets' AAA club.

no. Lincecum hurt his back so he had to make a surprise start.

I wasn't overly impressed although he did okay against the Padres' bad lineup. Derek Holland from Texas has a lot better stuff.

Well, the Giants are in a spot of bother. Seems their top Latin American prospect, Angel Villalona, signed for $2.1 million in 2006, was hitting .267 with 9 homers in high-A - but this week turned himself in for murder. Faces 20 years. Oops.

Apparently Cooper was a jerk too, though. After Aaron Boone's announcement to the clubhouse that he was getting open-heart surgery, instead of offering his best wishes Cooper took the opportunity to tell the rest of the players to work harder.
