I thought Detwiler's problems were control related. (He can't repeat his pitches)?

Over a period of time.  He does fine for a few innings and then just starts breaking down.  He's got the stuff more suited for a reliever.  I am convinced if he only had to go out for an inning or two at a time he would be excellent.

He's been known to wilt like Tim Redding used to after getting 2 outs in an inning. He doesn't know how to complete innings.

Redding's problem is he only has two pitches. He was a desperation starter but I'm convinced he could have been a damn fine 8th inning guy.

Detwiler still throws hard (90+) and still is a lefty, right?  That should get him to the majors eventually in the bullpen if he can't hack it as a starter.  There are no unemployed hard throwing lefties.

DOES HE EVER!  I saw him pitch in the playoffs last year.  I felt sorry for the catcher's hand!  You could hear it smack the glove THAT HARD!

Potomac splits the double header. Espinosa went 2/3 with a HR and 2 RBIs in game 2.

Mandel went the full 7 innings in the second game: 7 IP 4 H 0 R 0 ER 1 BB 1 K.

Brian Matusz faces Brad Meyers tonight in Potomac. Great match-up. I would go but I want to watch JZ pitch on TV.

Also, Paul Demny makes his first start of the season for Hagerstown tonight.

Matusz is supposed to be the crap, I'd TiVo the Nats game, you can watch the bullpen blow another game any time.

It will be interesting to see if the P-Nats game gets played. The drainage at the Pfitz is terrible and even small amounts of rain can cancel a game.

very true. I have noticed that this season. I live like 5 minutes from the stadium and even a little rain postpones the game.

Beimel is scheduled to pitch today and Sunday I believe.

The P-Nats owner is going to appear on Phil Wood's radio/TV show tomorrow on MASN.

Art will be joining Phil Wood for his morning radio show with Mr. Silber scheduled to make an hour-long appearance beginning around 11:20 a.m.

Brian, do you have any idea why Stammen only threw 68 pitches yesterday?

Last night Potomac manager Trent Jewett lost game 1 of the doubleheader for career loss # 1,000 and then won the nightcap for career win # 1,000.  Can't imagine that has ever happened before, to match any significant milestone numbers on the same night.

No. His fifth inning wasn't that bad. His previous starts were 77, 73 and 85.

Norris snapped out of his mini-funk with a 3-Run Bomb for the Suns.

Demny was decent: 5 IP 4 H 2 R 2 ER 3 BB 5 K.

Jesus Valdez with a Walk-off 3-Run HR to give the P-Nats an 8-6 victory in 13 innings!!

intense. I was listening to it on the radio. kind of wished I would have went now.

They were down 5-0 and came back and then they trailed 6-5 after giving up a run in the top of the 13th. In the bottom of the inning they intentionally walked Burgess to get to Valdez and he made them pay with a walk-off shot. :pimp:

You guys notice how our success is moving up the ladder? Last year it was A ball, this year it's AAA, maybe next year it's MLB :D

Colome takes the loss today for the Chiefs.

1 IP 2 H 3 R 0 ER 1 BB 1 K 1 HBP

The reason the runs were unearned was because of an error he committed himself. :?

Eldred went 3/4 with 2 HRs, a Double, and 4 RBIs.
