For what reason? He hasn't done anything at this point to make me think that he is untouchable when it comes to trades. I have no problem trading him if we can get something decent in return.

YOU HAVE TO GIVE MILLEDGE MORE THAN ONE FREAKING YEAR TO PROVE HIMSELF. holy crap.

You're a vile, vapid little troll who wasn't loved enough as a child.

Anyways...Milledge has had over 200 major league at bats. It's not like he's a rookie. I'm not saying he's a bad player or anything like that, but he is replaceable.

No Kasten would know that Gonzalez is locked in through 2011.

Yup, and cheap, too.

09:$3M,
10:$4.75M,
11:$5.5M club option (no buyout)
award bonuses: $50,000 for Gold Glove, $25,000 for All Star selection
2008 All Star selection increased price of 2011 club option to $5.6M

After 200 at bats, Jacoby Ellsbury, who is nearly two years older than Milledge, looked like a baseball god. People in NE were naming their unborn children after him. He then came to earth, finishing 2008 with essentially identical numbers to Milledge. That's the problem with small sample sizes. It's too early to know anything for certain about Milledge: he could break out and look like a baseball god for a while or he could plateau at a .280/.345./.450 level.

200 major league at bats is about 1/3 of what an every day starter would have for an entire season -- while I agree he's not untouchable or replaceable -- we haven't seen nearly enough to label him anything at this point and it's certainly too soon to suggest he's a bust ... plus he's still very young - personally,  I would not like to see him traded at this point

Yeah, the future image of DC Baseball. I can see it now and can't wait. Who also can't forget the infamous "Board Game yelling at the ump, getting into a scuffle, and then busting his own leg yelling" incident.

crazily, i think Milton could be a mentor to Dukes. if anyone can relate to Dukes, it's Milton.

and that argument was completely the umps fault. that umpire was despicable and unprofessional. i don't blame Bradley one bit for being irate.

Bullcrap. What sort of nutcase are you that you stand at first base, ready to run, then turn around and go after an official, enough that Bud Black jumps on your back and busts your leg? I don't care what an ump says, you deal with the game first, drama later. This crap doesn't need to come to DC.

Hell, here is a video of it all:
(Bradley's comments start at 2:50)

Would Board Game like a little cheese with that Whine?

Board Game could shoot one off in your eye and you wouldn't blame him.

Milton Bradley a mentor to Elijah Dukes...Jesus, how can you even take yourself seriously?

I would use terms like "team cancer", "not a team player", and "freakishly mental nutcase" but I think those terms are already in your subconscious when pertaining to him.

Winters (the 1b umpire) was suspended for the remainder of the season as it was determined that he baited Bradley by calling him a "piece of crap" as well as other profanities.

Bradley was rightfully enraged.

Sticks and stones, my little troll. So what if it was a fan? Board Game is a disaster waiting to happen. I don't care if it happens on some other team, but there shouldn't be a person on this board that wishes this curse on DC. Especially people here who constantly are tired of the retreads, injury prone, criminals, and discount knuckleheads this team continues to pick up.

Nah his act doesn't need to come, but I still don't think the argument was all on him. Poor decision on his part, the leg i couldn't care about, that was his fault, im just talking about the situation. The ump said what he said and didn't need to be said.

Thats my view on it.

I still think hes a good player but just a crazy guy, still better than Chad Johnson in my books

from what I know he's simply just a hothead. much like Jose Guillen. except he's a much better hitter.

when he was with the Dodgers he didn't get along with Jeff Kent and called him a racist, or something like that.  but Jeff Kent is an jerk, from everything I've heard. the deal was Kent didn't like Bradley, and Bradley didn't like Kent.

beyond that I haven't heard of anything that would make him a "team cancer" other than sensationalist arguments from forum posters, basing their entire opinion on his on-field tantrums. not just you, but on other forums as well.

then again, I don't really know him that well.

and the incident in san diego, from what I recall that was a long-running thing with that same umpire. the ump freaked with him earlier in the season, and then freaked with him again and he snapped.  but I don't know all the details behind it.

He went after the KC Royals play by play man last season because of some comments that were made on the air. He had to restrained from going up into the press box. The guy is a nut job. We do not need that on this team. We've been lucky so far, because the Elijah Dukes experiment has worked. If you keep shaking a stick at a snake though...you're gonna get bit.

but like I said earlier in this thread...

nobody is good enough for this team.

and if by some rare instance they ARE good enough for this team, why the hell would the come here in the first place.

Manny's not good enough.
Dunn's not good enough.
Bradley's not good enough.

and so the list goes on and on.

and then when the Nats do absolutely nothing further to improve the team, and get what the team needs in the lineup, then the "Cheap Lerners" complaints will come again.

I do agree with you. I don't agree with what the ump did, it sucks, it was wrong. But Board Game had the power to be the bigger man. Instead he couldn't control himself from becoming a high school cheerleader throwing a tantrum. The situation never should have arisen during the game and it never should of escalated.

But take a second and just superimpose a Nats jersey over Board Game as he is trying to attack the ump, with Bud Black on his back, and him withering on the ground in pain....that could be a reality.

I don't think he's ever had any run-ins with the law. Could be wrong, but I think most of his stuff has been on the field antics.

That's what I said  I'm not saying to sign him to a 120 million dollar contract.
