My XM radio crapped out on me. Too much Howard Stern, 175, and Ethel. I have a replacement waiting for me at home which I won't be at for at least another week.

I hated the idea of paying for radio. Then my new car came with a free, three-month trial of XM and after about 15 minutes of XM-175 I realized I can't live without it. REnewed the subscription, bought an extra receiver and have it set up in my office as we speak.

A must have if you can spare the cash in these tough economic times.

They can feel good about still having the best fans in baseball as well as the best stadium.

As the Mark Teixeira decision looms here's what the switch-hitting first baseman might be thinking about:

Major League sources indicate the Washington Nationals and the Boston Red Sox appear to be the finalists pending a last-minute New York Yankee offer -- always a possibility.

The Nationals are offering 9 years at $180 million.

The Red Sox have not appeared to change their offer of 8 years at around $170 million.

You can see the Nationals are willing to give Teixeira $10 million additional dollars, but the Red Sox' average annual value is about $1 million per year higher. This could obviously be changing by the minute, but that's where it appears to be at present.

Washington is closer to home. Boston is the better team.

We may have a decision by today.

I'm conditionally pleased with this effort.

the condition being that if we don't get Tex, that money gets spent on further improvements. Dunn and pitching, preferably.

thanks DC Fan for posting that and yeah spidernat I agree the numbers continune to change (no surprise)

9 years/$180 won't get it done, that's a very low number (figuratively speaking). I like offering the extra year, but we'd have to spend somewhere in the $190's if we really want him.

And the team has never backed down, set demands, or pulled any of that drama queen media BS the Sox did about a week ago. We have been solid and firm the whole time.

Word is, Tex is holding out for a limited no-trade clause that says the team may not trade him to Baltimore.
