haha as it comes to no surprise for most of you, i've been registered over there for years but rarely check it out.  too many egos.

and as far as strasburg goes, if the nats do sign teix, it doesn't mean we're not going to sign strasburg.  we can get both easily.
HUH? WE Better sign Strasburg. We'd be MORONS if we didn't sign him.
I think this has nothing whatsoever to do with Strasburg

a lot of people tend to differ.  they feel if we go after teix that we won't get strasburg.

we won't let another Crow situation go down.

You tell me who in their right mind would say that.

You pay Strasburg a 10 million signing bonus, and he is under our control for 6 years.
I haven't heard this, and if I did, I would probably blow.

Is 12 his IQ?

no make that 12 consecutive losing seasons by his wOes...seriously if we take care of boras client it should go well for negotations with Strasburg next season.  Basically you stratch my back I'll scratch yours...I dont like dealing with Boras but if we can make him happy it bolds well for future contract talks with his clients.

I think Strasburg (or whoever is going to be the #1 pick) has little to do with Teix and all that right now, so I don't even know why it is an issue.

this really is getting ridiculous.

Tex needs to just make up his damn mind.

I'm still doubtful he'll chose the Nats. I get the nagging feeling that Boras blinked.

trust me people have brought it up in the past, wondering about our budget on the MLB level vs. the spending on draft picks.  I'm with ya it has nothing to do with all of this.

I'm one of those people who think there is no reason to think the budgets aren't linked, however, I think it would show up in not singing guys in later rounds for seven figures to get them away from college more than it would in the first round.

Also, there isn't much in the way of free agents next year, certianly noone like Tex, so this is the year to make a splash if we are going to

Why would Tex announce his signing at halftime during the Ravens/Cowboys game at TEXAS STADIUM?

Yeah, that would make a TON of sense. NOT!

What Belkast means is that Teixeira is going to be at the Ravens game this weekend and look for an announcement at halftime...

What a second, that was last weekend.

If he does it this weekend, I seriously doubt he'll announce he signed with the Nats during the last game ever played at Texas Stadium.

Is all this activity just another in the long string of false alarms or does something get done soon? The suspense is killing me.

False alarms. No one knows anything.

I still predict he decides on Tuesday based only off my huge cranium and animal magnetism.

ESPN has confirmed that the Bo Sox don't have the best offer out there either.  It seems as though they are unwilling to go higher.

I really hope this means that we have a higher chance of Tex coming here.

That story doesn't provide anything new.  It's a compilation of about 4 different stories they just meshed together.

The O's fans are still supremely confident for the most part. Belkast claims that a decision has been made, but he gives no more than that (still not sure whether he knows anything at all).

I think things are falling into place nicely for us unless Tex truly has ZERO desire to play in DC at any price.

That is the essence of ESPN Sports Reporting.

I vote we finally determine this "Belkast" has absolutely no idea what he/she is talking about and we, from this point on, ignore everything this person says.

Belkast has been posting nonsense for years now.  The regulars ignore him, it's just the newbies that hang on every little word he has to share.

good post by boz how everyone needs to relax and that most of the "news" isn't really "news" of any substance.  he thinks the nats are in it, but don't count the red sox out at all.

p.s. yeah sportsfan that blazers game was awesome last night.  i remember staying up late watching brandon roy play in college @ washington, you just knew he was gonna be a stud.
