I think it's the O's. They need this signing far more than we do. If we don't sign Tex it's not a big deal but if they don't it's a big disaster.

Mark is going to Baltimore. I wonder how much they'll have to shell out for him. $200+ Million?

Why are the O's fan so optimistic? Everyone said we had the high bid and they were unwilling to raise the bid.
Do they know something we don't?

Since when are the O's that superior to us?
You should read the baseball forums at extremeskins (or not - your IQ might drop).

O's fans have a HUGE, unwarranted superiority complex (or a masked inferiority complex, more like) about the Nats.

O's fans and Nats fans alike seem to feel like their teams suck, yet they're just thankful they're not where the other is.

I think it's more warranted for Nats fans to feel that way at this juncture.  The 10 consecutive losing seasons (or however many) speak for themselves.

In that case, Peter the Pig better find a few more ambulances to chase.

well, O's fans have been working under the assumption that Tex coming to the Orioles was a foregone conclusion for at least a month now.  no reason for that confidence to fade now.

Whoa whoa whoa what? I just got back from a trip and MLBTR says the Red Sox are OUT and that the Nats would "have to pay extra", but Boston says they can't afford the current bidding price and the Angels say they've given up as well? Whaa??

Someone on OH reported that Channel 9 says we offered 8 years at 200 million.
Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah, I'm starting the Central PA Badasses and decided to throw 300 mil at him for kicks. I'm a crazy billionaire, I guess.

i haven't been over to OH tonight, but I also heard the same thing that we're offering 200 mil (not sure about the years though).

it's a shame we're not getting more coverage on this right now.  roch does a good job though updating.

Dude, I'd so root for that team. You should get Matt LeCroy to be the third base coach.

yeah and now they are all in "I don't know the first thing about the Nationals, but they might get Tex so I need to bash them and say they have no talent" mode.

as if the Orioles are *right there* on the cusp of dominance and Tex is the only guy they need to put them over the top.

He's so good that they need Greg Zaun to back him up.

I guess that explains their sign everyone to MiL contracts ploy, it's going to be Tex, Dukes, Milledge, Zimmerman, and the quad-A mediocrity patrol over there if this happens.

If there's a soul inside the man of Mark Teixeira, he will not go to Nationals.

He will come home at a slight discount, I WOULD HOPE..

If he signs with the Nats then that confirms that the only concern of Mark's is $$$$$$$, because that is all they have to offer.
