Teixeira has chosen his destination. However, an announcement will not be made until tomorrow afternoon.

The more this bullcrap drags on the more I am convinced we are just tools and the target all along has been the Sox.

If that's the case, will Teixeira become hated by Nats fans for it?

If so, why do you give a crap?  Why do you begrudge people their grudges?

And honestly, no, I don't think so.  Throughout all of this, Tex himself has really never said much of anything, and everybody already knows that Boras is a tool.  It would personally make me a lot more jaded about the absurdly overexposed NY-Boston axis that baseball seems to revolve around though.

If Tex signs elsewhere, what's a Nats fan?  :icon_frown:

no, I won't hate him -- I'll hate the evil empires of boston and new york even more and will revel when they don't win it all, even more than I do now ...

I don't give a crap. It was just a question. But speaking of the subject, I seem to recall some people here begrudging other people's grudges so even if I were, we'd be doing nothing more than going around in circles.

But they are so called evil empires only because players and agents allow them to buy them with all their money. I think this is as much, if not more, the fault of players and agents.

No it's just my own gut feeling. I think they'll announce it before the NFL weekend kicks off tomorrow night and they'll have the press conference early next week to get it out of the way before Christmas.

I created a legitimate account on Orioles Hangout to post there, and they deleted it after a day even though I had yet to log in for the first time.

I won't hate him at all.  Frankly, I think it would take a lot of guts to come to a team that finished 59-102 last year.  I am still hopeful that he comes to DC but I could clearly understand why he would go to a team that is a perennial winner.

Now, if he signs with the Orioles.......

I suppose ... but Tex seems like a decent enough guy and I don't begrudge him the money if it's offered and I don't begrudge the change at winning a ring ... I do however, begrudge your grudges against those who would hold grudges in the first place ... and WTF did the word grudge come from??

I don't hate the Red Sox or the Yankees because of their tendencies to spend money. I don't hate the Red Sox at all, actually. But the Yankees' fans are jerks (generally) and the sense of entitlement that surrounds that team is sickening. I love to see them fail because their fans are like WTF??

Plus, their GM went to my rival HS.

The Sawx.... one of my good friends from HS is a fan of theirs (legitimate, too) and I don't have anything against them.

At some point they stopped taking "anonymous" addresses. I don't know if they do that anymore, but that might be the issue. They had issues with people signing up with 12 different handles. E-mail the honchos, they can probably help you out.

From ESPN:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3782228

Sources: Boston Red Sox likely to re-enter Mark Teixeira talks

That's just ESPN begging the Red Sox to get involved, as well as trying to fool its Red Sox Nation that they have something worth tuning in for.  ESPN being ESPN again.  There was no news, nothing new whatsoever in that piece.

I wonder why that happened. Did you have Nats in the screen name you selected.

I suppose ... but Tex seems like a decent enough guy and I don't begrudge him the money if it's offered and I don't begrudge the change at winning a ring ...

You can probably say that about a lot of the guys that go for the money.

I do however, begrudge your grudges against those who would hold grudges in the first place ... and WTF did the word grudge come from??

I have no clue. I asked a simple question and it was brought up.

No, but I did have "houston". I will do as Why Not? suggests and try with a non-generic email address - I was using Gmail.

There are lots of fans of other teams on there, I doubt they would turn you away unless your handle was "Orioles Suck" or "I hate the Orioles Hangout"
