Let me rephrase my question. IF we were to get Tex, what would the team do next?

hate to potentially burst bubbles:

Yankees have offered Teixeira 8 years, $210 million and they are the reason Boston took themselves out.

Boras called Cashman while in negotiations with Boston to give them a chance to beat Boston's offer and they completely whacked it. Boston refused to increase their offer.

Boston radio. No link.

Don't listen to me. It'll come out soon and you'll remember who told you it first.

Definitely. Teixeira going to either us or the O's would have been a stunner. Generally big time FAs like Tex don't go to last place teams.

On ESPNEWS they just had the LA Times beat writer covering the Angels and he said he talked to Hunter and he said Hunter was pretty excited about what the Angels did but couldn't give details.

No it doesn't
Even the Yankees don't have 210 million laying around. They just signed CC and AJ

So wait, now someone is saying the yankees are in this?   I thought they were only after Tex to keep him out of boston -- why would they want him now?
