and although the last three years we've really never been in the thick of things due to injuries and simply being overmatched, it's good to see us never give up and play the role of "spoiler" even though manny hates to term us at being so.

i can't wait to the day we can compete and be in a playoff race.

Oh hell yeah. Ryan Howard just hit a 2-out, 2-run HR to give the Phils an 8-7 lead in the top of the 8th in Atlanta. If the Phils hold on and win they move into first place ahead of the Mutts.

Did I see spidernat and kimnat sitting together in the stands at this game?
(Image removed from quote.)

No that was me and Rosie O'Donnell.

I bet the Mets board is melting down.

i have 0 confidence in Perez, all i ask is that he gives us a chance to win and doesn't get pounded early.

not only does Perez not get pounded, he pitches a GORGEOUS gem!!! he made the Mets look FOOLISH and FRUSTRATED all night long! he BEFUDDLED the Mets! if Perez is not a National next yr, i will forever fondly remember this start.

Willie Harris = certified Mets Killer. Harris is a GANGSTA with the glove! twisting around and making another incredible catch vs the Mets! seeing Wright slam his helmet down in disgust was PRICELESS!

Washington Nationals = Mets Season Slayers!!!!

Guzy provides the decisive RBI double! Guzman >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Reyes. Guzman = hottest hitter in baseball!

then for the dramatic conclusion...

HANRAHAN LAYS THE HAMMER DOWN!!!!!! throwing straight heat! blowing Wright and Delgado away! filthy. my faith in Hanrahan as our closer of the future has gone up a few notches now!

WE ARE IN THE MIDST OF ANOTHER METS COLLAPSE AND THE NATS ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF IT AGAIN!

i want a 4 game sweep in the worst way, and we're halfway there! we should be able to blast Brandon Wright tomorrow, he's a bum.

Phillies up 8-7...WOO HOO!

Awesome night at the park. Very satisfying win. One of the most satisfying games of the season for the Nats' faithful. So many good things in this game despite the inability to capitalize on some chances offensively. This is the best I have seen Hanrahan as a closer. Hinckley is living the dream. Stellar defense this evening.

We have a 3-game series against the Padres this weekend.  Good time to "experiment" and get Spicollied by the Padres, and SWEPT.

If we finish last and that allows us to get the number 1 pick, so be it. But I don't want to finish last, and I certainly would want to avoid a 100 loss season at a minimum.

Which Mets board had those racist comments the other night?  I want to read it right now.

If this #1 pick pitcher is as good as projected, he may be a #1 rotation pitcher that can lead this team to a World Series while Ted Lerner is still breathing.  I'd rather not finish second to last, and then see him pitching for Seattle or San Diego, while we languish in mediocrity.

Lots of funny threads tonight. One of my favorite ones is titled "I'm tired of this pu$$y Wright".

Quote

ITS TIME TO BOO HIM AT SHEA NEXT WEEK

the golden pretty boy has been escaping from any criticism..........ITS TIME WE LET HIM HEAR IT!!!

Quote

Wright needs to be booed...period, dot, end of statement. He is awful in the clutch. I would boo Reyers, Beltan and Delgado right now too...and Church and Scheider and every freakin one of those scrubs who have now lost 4 of 5 games to the last place and next to last place teams in the league.

Quote

Wright is basically A-Rod reincarnated without the same talent

He crumbles in the spotlight............check out 2006 playoffs if u need further proof

I'd be more than happy with a Top 5 pick. It doesn't have to be the overall.

I love seeing them get pissed at Church and Schneider.

I also love the thread title there called: "SECOND PLACE YOU STUPID OPTIMISTIC PUNKS"

See I just want Strasburg because it can help our rotation out by having Lannan Balester and probably JZ next year. Then Strasburg the year after maybe, and one more. We could have a strong rotation.

I just dont want to see it go to them 2 either since they already have 2 great pitchers.
