All this talk about icecream reminds me of one of the funnier things I overheard at a game one time. In one of my rare adventures to the lower decks I overheard someone who most often sat in the Diamond Club seats complaining that the ushers wouldn't bring icecream to him like they would everything else. He had to sojourn among the masses to buy icecream from a vender. To me it was obvious why they wouldn't bring him icecream in 90 degree weather, but I guess what he really wanted was a slave to bring him sugar milk in a cone.

Actually at last year's HOF Induction Ceremony, I tried to get food.  They only had food on 1 side of the field.  Well the line went on and on.  Some kid was selling icecream from one of those metal boxes.  So I bought 2 chipwiches for lunch along with sodas.

By the time I got back to my seat.  It was mushy icecream on its way to being "sugar milk" between 2 choc chip cookies!  Hey, at least I got cookies out of the transaction!

Are people really that excited to have their ice cream scooped by a minor leaguer?

I can think of a couple players from last year I'd be excited to see as soda jerks at an ice cream parlor rather than on the field.  :D
