what minute of the video?

I suppose he got a wide berth when he was at TB because some of the pitching analytics and videos weren't all that developed at the time. He probably was advanced 15 years ago, and he had had early success with the Astros in the Clemens / Pettite / Oswalt/ Lidge era ('04-05). By 2017, I'm guessing they were tired of him not using the data they were developing. Cubs flushed him after one season, probably for the same reasons TB flushed him. Out of coaching 2019 and 2020.

Gonna guess he's here because Davey has faith in him and neither Davey nor Rizzo are big data guys.

Should be cued to the time when they start taking about it (~3:04).

TB's pitchers got a lot better after he left. Shuffling out assistant coaches while keeping the main parts of the coaching staff after a pretty lackluster season is not inspiring.

"about as old school as it gets."

BTW- the hosts are Brandon Kintzler and Steve Cishek. they were both with Hickey with the Cubs in 2018, and Cishek finished with the Nats last year.
