Radio lanyard is useless now
« Topic Start: May 15, 2022, 03:13:04 PM »
Since today turned out to be beautiful weather, I decided to head down to the game solo. I brought my radio lanyard because in the past it worked great and was perfectly synced with the game. However, now it's a full 20 seconds behind live action. What's the point?

I'm not sure what's going on. Sometimes it's live, sometimes it's delayed.

I hope they get it fixed.  But I might have been a little too strong with "useless".  It was still nice to be able to turn it on after a big play to get the radio guys take.

I'm guessing that whomever is in charge of actually turning it on before the games is doing something wrong, because I've definitely heard it both live and delayed at different times. If you turn it on before the game begins, you can hear whatever goes over the stadium PA, such as the music played during BP. So it seems like someone is manually switching it over to Charlie & Dave, and maybe they're piping in the wrong feed on occasion.

By the way, you can listen in on a regular radio if you have one that will pick up 68.5 MHz. There are some cheap ones available on Amazon.

Great tip!  Looks like this one should do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/Retekess-Portable-Earphone-Digital-Rechargeable/dp/B019BYBR48/ref=psdc_172681_t1_B07YJBTSWY?th=1

Pick up one of these and give everyone in the nearby sections your own play by play.

Not sure if this is related but usually the audio on game day is about 15-20 seconds behind gameday which I assume is real time. The last couple days it has been like 90 seconds
