Responsible for batting in 3 of 5 runs for this series right?

Come on man. People can celebrate his stirring performances the past two games while also acknowledging he's batting .179 in the playoffs. It's just lazy to deliberately misrepresent people's frustrations. He went 0 for his first two playoff games, and was held hitless in 4 of his first 6 playoff games this October. I think people are happy he's doing better right now and that he showed up in games 2 and 3 against the dodgers as well, but this frustration wasn't born out of nothing.

While Eaton has struggled at the plate this postseason, he’s come up with two huge hits this series.  I’m a fan of the guy...he brings good energy to the clubhouse.

I stand by my constant defense of this trade. Didn't like it early, but came around.

If not for the fluky ACL tear in his first season, the trade looks a lot better. Regardless, if you told me Eaton would hit for a 107 OPS+ for us and have a huge moment in the NLCS I'd take it. The whole point of the trade was to get to this point and if we win it all it's an obvious win (of course) but even now it's a good trade for both sides.

Eaton has basically been as advertised minus the time missed due to a fluky injury.  Gio miraculously turned from the worst pitcher in baseball to very good this year.  In hindsight, a young starting pitcher like him is more valuable.  Credit to him and the White Sox for making the adjustments and improving his velo and stuff the way they did, because it was garbage when we dealt him.  However, at the time the deal made sense as we got something we needed and was a sure thing and gave up question marks.  Lopez could still one day become an adequate starter, but to date he's been very bad.  I don't have any remorse over losing him other than it would be nice to have more depth of arms to try and develop.

Where’d the Spanky nickname come from?

This trade is a win-win. Nationals got exactly what they needed from Eaton and the White Sox got a star in Lucas Giolito. The White Sox board is pretty excited for Adam Eaton. I'm excited for Lucas Giolito. Hoping Reynaldo Lopez figures it out like Giolito did this season.

But I still :lmao: occasionally reading my signature.

He's had that nickname for a while. I'm pretty sure from the Little Rascals. When he first came to DC, FP called him "Mighty Mouse", but I think Eaton prefers Spanky, since he used that on the players' weekend nickname jerseys.

He was hobbling around until this season.  Then, it took him a while to get back on his normal track.  Fast runner, good fielder, good arm, good OBP, and some power.

Not sure where would be best to post this, but here's a video posted by Adam Eaton on Instagram of Little Leaguers driving the Kendrick/Eaton race car:
