I fully understand the need. If it saves one person from injury, gotta do it. I'm too old school to like it though. The "best seats" for me just changed.

They need to put some high risk sections in front of the netting.  18 and older only, and you have to sign a strict waiver.

So since the netting has gone up I've sat in 111, Row TT; 208, Row E; and 117, Row RR. I have not found the nets to be a distraction. I actually forget the nets are are there.

But I think if you happen to be in a row where the cable let's say cuts across the pitcher's mound or home plate, then that might be a distraction.

I think this might be a thing where some people might be distracted and some may not even though they are sitting in the same seats. I don't know how that works. Above my pay grade.

FWIW, I asked a couple of the regular ushers if people have been complaining about the new nets and they said no.

okay thanks.  this sucks bc my SOLE PURPOSE of buying front row tickets on the 3rd baseline was so my son could get a foul ball.  i understand and appreciate the safety part but it still sucks.

Pop ups can still go over the nets. It's the line drives that are prevented. And, trust me, I've sat in 111 plenty (and my season tickets are in 113) you want no part of most of those line drives.

So what are the best seats for you now?

From my vantage point the cable cuts through the pitcher on the mound and then the first base bag. I’m pretty upset because I used to love my seats.

Complain and see if they will move you this year?

Yeah, I can see your point. Sometimes moving just a couple of rows makes a big difference. They have got to figure out a way to put in thinner cables. The thin nets are perfect but the cables can be a problem, especially the horizontal one across the top of the nets.

We had a great time Saturday and Sunday, my son loved his MLB experience - the folks at Nationals Park were wonderful!  However, the netting SUCKS BALLS.  We had tickets for Saturday in Section 141 Row A so before the game we walked over to check out our Sunday Section 111 Row A seats and I immediately listed them for sale on StubHub (sold quickly) and bought tickets in Section 142 for Sunday.  There was no way I was going to watch a game with my face stuck in that netting.  It is awful.

On the upside, I did catch Dozier's home run in the 5th inning on Sunday, that was awesome, my son was thrilled - and it made me even more glad that I bailed on the Section 111 tickets.

And by the way, you can forget getting a pop up foul ball down either baseline unless you're at least 6 rows back - the netting slants away from the field quite a bit.  (and you're only going to get a grounder foul ball if you're at the very corner of the netting and the ball boy/girl gives it to you.
