Perez helped tie the game in the 15-inning game, and had two hits when he batted against the Mets.

And they could pinch-hit for him with another pitcher like Strasburg or Roark. Or even just let Perez hit. Does one of them tie the game? Probably not.

But swinging like a broken windmill at pitches out of the strikezone will definitely not tie the game. And for that he is a freakface.
So you think he would have taken the walk?  That's just dumb. Blame Harper for being terrible or blame Turner for having a brain fart.

No, but he should have, or at least made Niese throw an actual strike.

Considering that we were one strike away from being shut out by a single run, I for one am not contemplating suicide after this.  Shrug, besbol.

I meant should have. No he shouldn't have. Makes no sense. Should he have cut down his swing and make contact?  Yes. Game was lost before that at bat.

I would not blame our pitchers....our overpaid alleged hitters flailed away or jogged towards first base or whiffed at krapola so far out of the strike zone that the batter needed a passport to catch up to it....while the real high priced help failed to help at all....they just waited for the cashier window to open tomorrow, so they could stroll to the front of the line, with their worthless (werthless) paws outstretched to grab their undeserved cash, then shower and wander back home for a cold one....laughing all the way.

Don't be a dumbass. Everyone crapting the bed you sleep in before you doesn't mean you have free reign to drop logs in dreamland and not get called a bedcrapter.

So. No one else on the team has made last out this year with the tying run on base? Gimme a break.

ATTENDANCE at this match: 32,775 (79% full)

:uk:

This match is being repeated on MASN at
9:00 am tomorrow morning, but I wonder
if they'll show the whole 18 innings, which
took 6 hours and 23 minutes

I'm back - pity I couldn't do 'Comparative Dates'  after yesterday's marathon but good to see that at least the team did well for the most part while I was out (wish I could say the same thing for the Mystics who dropped five straight and are now out of playoff position).

Thanks to all who relief-pitched.
