3rd   Utley grounded out to third, Revere scored, Hernández to third.
3rd   Howard doubled to right, Hernández scored.
3rd   Franco homered to right center, Howard scored.
4th   Revere singled to left, Herrera scored, Hamels thrown out at home.
5th   Howard homered to center.
6th  The morons at ESPN cannot post anything semi-complicated on a timely basis. 6th   Hernández lined out to pitcher, Revere scored.
8th   Desmond doubled to right, Taylor scored.

     Philadelphia Phillies   8
          Washington Nationals  1

Stephen Stressburg owes me a $6,000 fine for this game, plus other
fines now past due. Stressburg now has an ERA of 6.50
.

Just switched channels....now watching..."Bowling for Doughnuts"....much more exciting...while Harp flails....thinking about this game....it's probably better to combine $hitty performance and lackluster hitting in ONE game rather than spread it out over 3 or 4....baseball stats and eventual World Series placements are not centered around some huge one-off loss....so...eff it...flail...eff up...whatever...get it out of one's collective system in one bad game and come back, ready to kick booty and take names tomorrow....

...the only sad thing is that Harper did not hit a home run.....while Ramos grounds out feebly to end the game...not that it mattered much....better to get a rotten game in the books, phuque up by the carload throughout, and come back tomorrow, ready to play....

Stepping back, Strasburg and Fister are enough to make me -- even me -- worry. Rendon has been mentioned. Might be playing baseball again soon. Might be back with the Nats before August 1. But two of the "five aces" not so.

Strasburg injured? Otherwise, has Strasb decided to remind everyone of Bobby Burke, who threw a no-hitter at in 1931, when he was 24, and who was dropped by Washington when he was 27. Of whom Bucky Harris said, "The kid got a ten year tryout." (Which I know because Burke was the answer to the Jordan Zimmnn question: who was the last Washington pitcher to...?)

I picked a good night to go see Avengers and miss a game.

Stras..WTF man? You were supposed to be special. An A ball pitcher could out produce him at this point.
