Why pay extra for something that gets done by the app for free and eliminates live tracking?  We're either talking past each other or you're not understanding why this won't work.

Quite possibly. Haven't used Strava so I can't comment on it much. From what I saw on the Cycle plus app, it essentially replicates everything Strava does, so it's a one time fee for a much longer battery life and integration with Windows 10 machines, whatever the form factor and getting to continue to use the Strava data you have from the past.

Your workflow has the user duplicating recording (and paying an additional fee) just to use a Windows phone.

Absolutely correct. You're ignoring the other benefits because they aren't convenient to your argument, though.

I use my phone for three things - communication (text, phone), wifi hotspot, and Strava.  Why would I buy another phone that doesn't do one of the only things I have a "smart" phone for in the first place?

What's your battery life? Is changing out Strava for an equally functional program worth an extra 48 hours of life and a removable battery so you can replace it with a spare?

In all of my years of having a "smart" phone I've never had a situation where I needed more than six hours of battery life.  Most of my bikes have hubs that act as a charging station so even in situations where the battery runs low and I don't have a charging tube I can recharge it if needed using the hub charger.  Why I would give up a phone that does what I wants that I've already paid for to get a Windows phone (an OS that I don't like or use) just for a replaceable battery and longer battery life is pointless.

I'm also a Strava pro athlete so there isn't an "equally functional program" out there.

I think I'm going to let this be my last response because it's kind of a pointless discussion at this point.  I'm glad you're happy with what you've got. I'm happy with what I've got.

The only legal thing worth doing in Baltimore is the aquarium.

Hear that -- not planning on going into the city (was originally planning to spend a couple days in D.C., but that fizzled). Being far, far away from the metro area, it's hard to find any Nationals gear, let alone stuff on sale. Did grab the lady a Harp ASG jersey that season at Coors for cheap.

I've been on Windows Phone for four years now. I have an iPad as well that stays at home. I have never once lamented or felt like my day was screwed because I couldn't get something done on my phone because it wasn't iOS or Android. What apps do you use that I can't that are lowering my quality of life?

i'll take that ipad off your hands

Heheh. No deal - I enjoy using it very much.  There are some great apps out there for entertainment and what not.  Just nothing that I can't live without when I'm mobile and/or working.
