You sure it's gum?

Maybe it's coca leaves or khat.

So we just have to learn to accept the losses, in other words.

Well considering the top teams in the league lose 60+ in any given season, I would say yes.

I bet not many teams play a lot of games with their full lineup. Mindfact maybe.

Perhaps that was more of begging the question on my end, but the reality is we have consistently missed a quarter of our starting lineup for the past 130 or so games.

We're missing about 200.  PLUS one more guy is just back and went 0 for the series.

Making up excuses when losing 2 of 3 to the Votto and Bruce less Cincinnati Reds at home?  Serious reach there.  Let us just hope that things work out better for them offensively in Pittsburgh.

We are the "excuse" fanbase.

Half the lineup is the bench.  I'm not happy about it, but if you're expecting consistency right now you are reaching.  One more bat in ALR should make a pretty significant difference, and right now Ramos should not be batting clean-up.

To be fair, not many teams would survive missing their 3 best players. Zimmerman, Laroche and Harper are huge losses.

We are lucky we've been playing mostly sub-.500 to .500 teams.  We saw what happened when we played a top team like the A's.

My point is that if you go around the diamond the Nationals have better players than the Cincinnati Reds right now.  The injuries bother me as much as anyone, but excuses just allow teams to accept losing.   "don't worry we will get better when they get back".......Pffttt

The Nationals are still more talented than the Reds missing Votto and Bruce.....let alone a just returning from serious injury Chapman

Clearly Chapman isn't back to form.  He's only throwing 101 on the black.

For real though how many times since Rendon's second call-up have the Nats played with its full lineup?
I don't consider Ramos part of the full lineup.  He's out more than he plays.

It's like having a good performer who is also an alcoholic... and lives at a brewery. It's just a matter of time before he's out...

yeah, no excuse for losing 2 of 3 to a club without its two best players.
