did you know that on may 17th, 1931 the nationals played in a game in the sixth inning where there were 6 consecutive balls thrown?

The guy is right.

Griff remade the team, and kept them respectable until he retired. He never had the money to build up the minors, but he out-foxed everyone as long as pro baseball teams were made from trades and signing prospects from independent minor-league teams. His son, Calvin, then dumped salary, built up a farm system, and moved our team to Minneapolis just as they were getting good. The core of the 1960 Nats made up the core of the pennant-winning '65 Twins.
