Yeah, something about how Bryce has to have missing limbs before he calls the trainers out.  MASN plans to fire him again in a ceremonial press conference this afternoon.

I'm guessing it sounded something like this?

what these kids have got to understand is that this isn't pre-school, this isn't tee-ball, this isn't 'play catch in the yard with your daddy'.  You have to tough it out at this level, even if it means playing with broken bones, torn ligaments, or severe concussions.  It's time for Bryce Harper to man up and send the diaper back to Las Vegas

it looks like he won't be ready for opening day in Hagerstown.  Ugh for all those who bought tickets.

That's a couple weeks away.

Must of been a pretty decent sprain.

It was diagnosed as a medium sprain, same as Corey Brown.  They can take 1-2 months to fully heal.  Any return quicker than 2 weeks is probably rushing it, but who knows, he could be a super freak at healing too.

Sprains linger for a long time if you come back too soon from them.  Additionally, early return while the ankle is still tender makes reinjury much more possible so there is really no point in rushing Harper back and risking this being a lingering thing for the entire season hindering his development.  Let the kid sit for a little while regardless of whether he will miss Opening Day.  He is the future of this organization and much more important than a spectacle at Opening Day in Hagerstown.

Would have been better if he had broke it. That way he'd heal quicker/more completely.

Maybe but breaking it can lead to a permanent dropoff in speed so there is a potential trade-off there.

No. But he did get a new iphone case yesterday.

Or, at least that's what he was tweeting about.

No, leave that to Linty. He is much more qualified.:~)

I apologize in advance for the cheap shot. Somehow Linty brings it out in me. And I like the guy even.

He should have gotten a Windows Phone 7!

No one under any circumstances should get a Windows Phone 7.  Ever.

Hopefully he's back quicker than 2 months.  That's a hell of a long time.

In my basketball playing days I sprained my ankles a number of times and I always found that I was never pain free until I started playing again.  You don't want to make it worse, but you do want to push it a little bit.  Harper is young and strong, he'll be fine in a week or two.

Quite an advertising campaign they had, promoting it as the phone that you won't want to use as much as the iPhone or Androids.
