What exactly do you want to know.

I'm not a big virtualization user or fan, particularly.  I'm almost an exclusive Windows users so all I'd do is run a virtualized Windows, within a host Windows install, which doesn't make a lot of sense generally.  I was recently contemplating running a virtualized 7 Starter within a Vista Ultimate host, for no other reason than I can.  :)  I don't like virtualization because it's always such a terrible performance hit.  The performance hit is so great, generally, it's tough to determination about anything in that virtualized OS.

I use Windows Virtual PC because...well..., I do everything through Microsoft.  I was going to download VMware but they want you to register.  I don't want a relationship with them just to download this program!

Virtualbox is a nice free alternative.  Very polished.  I haven't messed with VirtualPC lately but unless they've updated since the last version ('07?) I'd say it's probably on par with it.  Not quite as fancy as VMWare, but if you're just dabbling it's more than sufficient.

I actually got it working today.  I installed vmware server on a Windows 2003 server.  I then created a virtual machine and installed Ubuntu desktop on it.  I can now access that virtual machine from other workstations.  Now I am trying to create a bootable usb drive with Ubuntu on it and create a Win 7 virtual machine to connect to from the ubuntu laptop.

Yeah I want Windows Server so I can do that too. I use Virtualbox because it's free and opensource, and well, because the company is called Innotek. I use cygwin on my netbook to ssh into a virtual linux machine on my souped-up laptop. It's a ghetto network, and I use Homegroups to share printers and files. I like it because it took like 4 hours total to set up.

There is a Mac version of Quicken, if you didn't know.  I don't know how the features compare to the windows version though.

it absolutely sucks, and it won't read Quicken for Windows files.

I know the old (2007?) version for Mac was widely hated.  But this version just came out a few months ago.

Quicken Essentials for Mac easily and seamlessly converts your data from all supported Quicken Mac and Windows versions—in three easy steps.

Just seems to suck that you had to buy a Windows license just to run Quicken.

Anybody using GnuCash? It couldn't do a couple things I needed it do a few years ago but seemed promising.

Granted Mint.com has effectively replaced Quicken for me anymore. I know it isn't the same but I have gone to a much lighter weight asset management approach.

i've been running Quicken since 1992.  The new Mac version is a big step toward compatibility, but from the review I read it still lacks a lot of the investment tracking capabilities of the Windows version and the version notes say ""Important Features Update: Quicken Essentials for Mac doesn't allow you to pay bills with Quicken, store investment transaction history or export data directly into TurboTax." which pretty much makes it useless for me.

I'm on version 2008 now, so I guess they'll force me to do something in about another year or two.
