Bizarre game.  I have always been pretty much an unwavering fan of FR, but the starter being pulled in the first couple of innings (in a still close game) is, um, a bit suspect.   But I didn't tune in until the 3rd, so I must assume that the immolation of the bullpen had some purpose.  Didn't it??

Hope so  :o

Well, if someone told me we were going to put 9 runs on the board tonight, i would have put money on a win... I would have been way off.

a win tomorrow is a must. I still have hope in these nats! It be a shame not to win this series after zimmermans wonderful walk-off hr, and have to settle for a split. Nats seem to respond well after the 11-1 thrashing at the bats of the devilrays so hoping for the same bounce back thursday afternoon! It's just one game.

A small victory, the Nationals caused Pinto to be sent back to the minors.

After the game, the Marlins sent Pinto to Class AAA Albuquerque and recalled left-hander Jason Vargas.

With the benefit of hindsight, he burned the bullpen unecessarily, should have left O'Connor in to try to work out his issues.  Every pitcher we used was awful, with the exception of Bray.
