Nationals vs Diamondbacks, Game 1

everyone is disgusted except for Bowden, Stan Kasten, and the Lerner Family.

I, for one, and probably the most disgusted I have ever been.  and it isn't just a "this game" thing. it's been building up over the course of the season.

Per Carpenter, this is literally the lowest point in the Nationals' 4 year tenure in D.C...

this team is a TRAIN WRECK. just like a train wreck, i can't help but watch the damage.

my recap:

1. Nook Logan > Roger Bernadina

2. Austin Kearns is still a big eared bum. I don't care about his two singles, he couldn't come through in the clutch like usual.

3. Wily Mo is the worst baseball player in the entire MLB.

4. I applaud Perez for his emotion and becoming the first nationals player/coach to be ejected this season. Finally someone shows some fire.

5. Manny really annoyed me when he gave St. Claire the hand motion like i'll take care of this after Odalis was outraged, Manny then proceeds to just casually approach the umpire and have a nice chit-chat with him. IT'S TIME FOR MANNY TO GET THROWN OUT OF A ****ING GAME!

6. Flores is proving he was a fraud when he was hitting +.300. he'll be hitting -.250 soon. he looks clueless at the plate.

7. The nationals now have the worst record in their short history in DC.

There were tw parts of this gaem i enjoyed:

1. Odalis gettig pissed off at the Ump, and getting ejected. He may be the only National to care.

2. Whenever Webb stepped off the mound, or threw to first, the fans started yelling balk! it made me laugh.

P.S. if i started calling the team the NOtionals, is that ok or just disrespectful to the team i support?

#1 is fixed.

#6, I don't agree with. Flores was bound to come back to earth, but I don't think he's a "fraud".  he just needs to make adjustments now that pitchers have adjusted to him.

well he does have a point here.

our bullpen just had to pitch like 7 innings. that shouldn't happen. people whine and whine when our pitchers can't pitch past the 5th inning, but act like them getting ejected in the 2nd is a great and wonderful thing.

getting ejected tends to do more harm than good, regardless of how much you scream that it will have some sort of magical positive effect if you get tossed for no reason.

it won't.

the only thing getting ejected does is force you to make unnecessary substitutions.

the best part about tonights lose is that wily mo pena will be starting in LF tommorow, ready to K 4 times against Owings or Haren.

Flores was tossed earlier this year while catching.  He wasn't really that emotional about it though so I guess that doesn't count.

I was there, and I will say this.  I was in the first row behind the left fielder and when Wily Mo made that catch I could have reached out and touched him.  That had to be his best catch of the year.  Why did it have to be him?  Manny will use that now as an excuse to start him every day over Willy Harris or Casto.  Whatever, this team is freaked anyway.  This is my last game I go to for quite a long time, if not this year.
