Hulu

Anyone heard about this "Hulu Plus" service?  hulu.com/plus

Basically you pay $10 a month for a sub.  It's supposed to give you HD streaming, with the additional functionality of an iPhone and iPad app, with xbox and ps3 support coming soon.

The iPhone support sounds cool, and I want it, but $10 a month?  It almost seems more prudent to just buy a nettop to hook up to your tv and get hulu and other websites that stream onto your HDTV.

I wonder if the iphone support is limited to wifi, if not it sounds like AT&T network is going to get worse. I think this is supposed to be the first step in hulu becoming a pay site, so I wouldn't invest in any hardware just to stream hulu

This crap is such a bad idea. Fox.com for instance gives free HD streaming. People are already used to watching ads on hulu, they aren't going to pay for service.

Why use Hulu? I watch TV on Megavideo, so much better.

Well, because Hulu is (was) free and it's legit.  Plus there is the hope that content providers see that streaming on demand video is a feasible model and open more content to be streamed.

It looks like Hulu Plus gives you the full series of some shows.  Not the most recent few episodes, but every episode of every season.  I still don't like the $10 a month part, especially since the videos will still have ads.  $5 a month and I'd probably bite since I have multiple devices that are supposed to be supported hooked to my tvs.

Yeah I don't like the part about recent episodes only.
