Yep. No team dwells on its previous roots. For the most part they act like that other town never existed.

Agreed. For example, Johnny Unitas and Jackie Robinson have been totally disregarded and forgotten by the Colts and Dodgers.

Do you think the Yankees give tribute to their start in Baltimore? Neither do I. :mg:  The only team that truly memorializes its heritage is the Dodgers everyone else forgets their roots.

Very smart of O'Malley to keep the Brooklyn nickname for the team when he moved to LA. There was pressure to go with a new one. Stoneham did the same in SF to lesser impact but at least when you hear Willie Mays you think Giants and not two different franchises. Expos was a bridge too far.

Unitas adamantly opposed the move and was clear that his sentiments remained in Baltimore, so that was probably the reason, in his case.

So how do we feel about Bob after listening to Joe Buck's constant, endless spew of awful?

What do you know that shows the Dodgers have done that ?  Unitas was great, but he isn't the historical figure of Jackie Robinson.

Gary Thorne is a good announcer.

Gary Thorne was the lone bright spot for espn's NHL coverage in the 90s.

Smoltz never shuts up long enough for Buck to have an endless spew of awful.
