Potential move if Robles is hurt
« Topic Start: October 05, 2019, 10:47:03 AM »
The "little hamstring issue" could turn into a big deal since it's hard to win a playoff series with only 24 players.  What are the odds that they DL Robles and bring in Stevenson or Difo?  The downside is not only is Robles off for the Dodgers series but he would also be ineligible for the next round.

On the same note, if someone did a Nancy Kerrigan on Hunter Strickland so that Guerra or Ross or a ham sandwich could take his place, would anyone mind?

No. I can have MAT or Parra in Center. No reason to make that move right now.

Nats have a few infielders who can play OF in a jam. Go with MAT and Parra for now. Worth not losing chance of Robles coming back.

Give it a day or two. But I'd want Stevenson if I had to IL Robles.

And I want MAT starting. Its October. It's time for BMT to show up and mash.

They do not need 5 outfielders.  The Nats can get through this round with Taylor in the OF.  All it does is it makes you somewhat less likely to pinch hit with Parra and you lose a pinch runner by playing MAT.   I like Stevenson, but I don't like him enough to replace Robles on the roster unless you know Robles will not be back for 2 weeks.

Ah, finally, a reason  to wish we still had Harper.

Taylor versus a lefty G3 seems ok to me.

Robles had an MRI on his right hamstring, was diagnosed with a “very, very mild strain,” Martinez said. Robles wanted to play today, could still be available to pinch-hit.

MAT got on base 3 of 4 times. What do you do for Wednesday if Robles is, say, 80 percent? I honestly don’t know.

You start Robles. It is a scientific fact Taylor will rake and look like a frontline starter when backed against the wall due to starter injuries, but if you put faith in and him and choose him over another player? Danny Espinosa.

Start Taylor or Parra, give Robles an extra couple of days.
