MLB replay is beyond pathetic. There really is no reason for them to continue to use it. They can't get the calls correct even with multiple angles. They've made a joke of the whole system.

Even though 99% chance we don't tie it up, I think they called it that to end the game sooner and ensure the next game starts on time.

I think they went back to allowing the "neighborhood" call on turning double plays a couple years ago after a bunch of double plays were overturned on replay. That said, I have not seen anything as stark as that one in a while.

The opposite, actually. In 2016, the neighborhood play was made reviewable. I'd prefer for replay to not be allowed on the neighborhood play, but don't mind it for the obstruction call on DPs
