If your game is to pitch in relief, all that weight does is accelerate you faster towards your plant leg and put more oomph on the ball.

Fat pitchers can be very good.

Why do we have a fat guy on the roster? Don't these guys get paid tons and tons of cash to be in shape?

My meds seem latterly to be developing an amazing knack for deciding which Nats matchnights to kick in early on. Now this past Tuesday they waited till after the near-cliffhanger was over so I caught all of the radio broadcast...but last night they took effect the moment my head hit the pillow and I missed most of that debacle. Mere coincidence?

(That having been said, that chap they called up from Syracuse to pinch-hit for Charlie on the radio broadcasts was pretty good.)
Yes. Kevin Brown seems good. When I heard him the first thing I thought was why can't we have him instead of Carp not almost anyone instead of Carp.

Well, assuming you actually have the muscle mass to move all that bulk effectively, sure.  If added bulk means a proportionate loss of acceleration, you're not adding anything at all.
