If they'd had better preparation or could recognize pitches, Masterson would have walked 10 batters tonight.

We really needed to win this one. Oh well, there's still 96 games left right?! Hopefully we'll get em tomorrow!!

Yeah. No need to worry. This is like placing your hand over a hot stove and stubbornly insisting not to worry because your skin will eventually adjust to the heat.

Davey didn't even notice what Kipnus did? Moron.

Can't let something like a baseball game interupt his nap...

Anyone know our total offense numbers for the season.  I'm curious what kind of WHIP opposing pitchers are putting up against us.

That's essentially On Base Percentage (OBP) but which includes Hit By Pitch.  The Nationals are now tied for 28th in OBP, but were dead last very recently.  We are in the bottom 25% of most batting categories, just like during the Dark Times.

I now understand why Davey had NO manager job for 10 years.

I'm looking for something so I can compare to pitchers.  So it's like we're facing verlander every night or whoever.

This team is just unable to generate any positive momentum. Should have won the game tonight and cut the division deficit to 4.5 games. The Braves would have surely noticed.

It's just one step forward, one step back with this team. They can't play consistent baseball or get on any kind of good streak.

I came up with 1.21

They were until Rendon sits and Mr. Inertia (Tracy) starts.

True, that kind of sucked all the wind out of the game before it even started.

Our pitching has pretty much stabilized from where it was earlier in the season (except Haren) but we can't take advantage and go on a run because of Davey and the offense.

Unless Rendon was injured or sick, he should have been in the line-up.  There's really no reason at all to sit one of the few players who's hitting.

Did anyone attempt to bunt in this game?  If not, why not?

Span did in the third, that's how Suzuki was on 3B to score on the wp.

Woke up this morning to ride and still think the game last night sucked.   We keep getting parts of the team back, adding young talent and we don't seem to improve.    Like sittin' in a high performance car and can't seem to take our foot off the brake and release the clutch.   Looks good on paper and revs real nice but just won't go.     And then there's Tracy  .....   keep trotting out the 1965 Corvair.

After thinking about it a little more.   DJ trots out all the 1965 Corvairs.

So I'm super excited for this game today.  Glad I have a gameday thread to post in to express that excitement.
