Crowd looked rather unpromising in the early going but got better as the evening progressed (well, as it progressed time-wise, if not baseball-wise) - announced attendance 19,046, about the same as Games 2 and 3 of the Cubs series. I figured the threat of rain plus a rather uncompelling opponent would cut into walk-up sales.

...and just what happened to all that horrible rain that was supposed to wash this match out and force a doubleheader today? Wasn't really bad out at all once the match started.

The Jammin' Barbecue, opened at the north end of the Gallery level (just as you get off the escalator or ramps) at the start of this homestand, gets a big thumbs-up from one of my seat-mates.

I don't mean by us.. as in, Werth will be batting 5th tomorrow, Stairs will be on the roster, etc.
Exactly.  I remember when Davey came aboard.  He spoke about accountability.

I've heard that he'll trust his veterans forever so I don't expect Werth and Stairs to go anywhere.  We just have to get used to their failures in key situations.

My seat is about five feet from where they come down into the dugout, so I got an amazingly good look at Lannan coming down. I had a feeling his nose wasn't broken, as it still looked "right". But holy god, the blood pouring down his face was gruesome. It was just nasty to look at his face and all the blood on it running out of his nose, and I felt horrible for him. You could tell he was in an incredible amount of pain... But I won't get that image of his totally bloodied face out of my head for a while. Thank goodness he was alright, that's a miracle considering a baseball hit him in the face, and then all that blood.

Exactly.  It's amazing that Riggleman was winning games despite being told to start an injured first baseman, a washed up catcher, and an overpaid bust of a right-fielder.  Not to mention the fact that one of his roster spots was occupied by a 43-year-old man who can't play baseball anymore.

:lmao:

Seriously?  You're an idiot.  You have no idea how baseball works.

Isn't there a Redskins board you can go to?
