This was a really fun game to be at. Lots of back and forth, some big hits, some great defensive plays, a Nats win. A lot of fun. Will post pics and review on the NQ later tonight.

I'm late to the forum today, so I'm not sure if anyone saw this.  In ESPN.com's recap, the headline says "Dunn powers O's with 2 HRs in win over Nats."  I supose "win over Nats" is a force of habit.

I'm sure this has been discussed in this thread a million times over, but I'm going to have to call out sportsfan (and others, although I can't remember any others) who said Dunn couldn't hit in the clutch.

You could always argue that with Dunn's power Zimmerman was in scoring position at the time.

regardless, Dunn's numbers with RISP are .267/.433/.644 = OPS: 1.078. In those 45 ABs with RISP he has 5 HRs and 26 RBIs. Just what one would expect from a classic slugger in the cleanup spot.

By comparison, RZ has 44 ABs with RISP and his numbers are .273 .382 .364 OPS = .745. Zimmerman is always looking more for contact. Interesting enough, they both have pretty much the same number of walks and Ks with Dunn obviously having more of each.


with 2 outs and RISP Dunn's OBP is .455 and SLG is .500. Clearly the guy walks alot.

I was there today, and I'd say around 20% O's fans.  I was in a section today that was almost all walkup purchases (306) and it was probably 20-25% in our section and that would be on the high side compared to sections in which a substantial portion are sold to Nats ticket holders.

We definately saw the most exciting game of the year so far in yesterday's 8-5 win.  That was some catch Austin Kearns made in the early part of the game.  We were in the front row of the Red Loft seats and had the best angle to see Austin's great catch.
