If the Red Sox sign Tex, could we use it to our advantage?

What nobody here appears to have reported is that the Boston Red Sox have a solid future solution at 1B waiting in the minors. His name's Lars Anderson, he's 21 and with their AA team, and he's the Red Sox 2008 Minor League Player of the Year. In 41 games at the AA level last year, he hit .316/.436/.526/.962 with 30 RBIs and 5 homers. He did, however, strike out in a quarter of his at-bats. Baseball America says he's their #1 prospect.

I've noticed some Red Sox fans, as well as folks at MLBTR, discontent with the Teixeira signing because it blocks Anderson from the big leagues. Well, of course, Youkilis already did, but Tex just removes all doubt. If Tex heads to Boston, do you think we have the goods to pick up Lars?

"SoxProspects" scouting report - could have been written by an enamored fan or an actual scout:
Quote
6' 4", 210, bats L, throws L. Large, powerful slugger with a great hitter's frame, excellent present power, and an elite power ceiling. Extremely smooth and fluid swing. Impeccable batting eye with very good patience at the plate, he actually could stand to be a little more aggressive. Hits especially well to the opposite field, but also can pull the ball on occasion. Still strikes out a little bit too much, particularly against off-speed stuff from more advanced pitchers. Athletic for his size, plays a pretty good first base. Digs throws in the dirt well. Makes some nice diving plays, but still can look awkward at times. Mediocre range. Not a stolen base threat, his speed is about average for a big 1B. Likely would have been an early second round pick in 2006 if not for high bonus demands.
Very good patience and strikes out too much?

Interesting. He seems like a good prospect.

I wonder what it'd take.

I mentioned this elsewhere, but it'd probably take Jordan Zimmermann and another prospect.

Good patience I assume sees a ton of pitches - he's like a contact hitting Adam Dunn

Yeah, the Red Sox gave him a special award for the best at-bats.
