I'm not saying this is feasible for most companies today, but it's one direction business could head. The thin-client technology already exists.
in that case, what advantage does a tablet have over a phone? I think tablets are great for consuming media, and probably very useful for a small subset of professionals and students, but the lack of a usable key board seems like a deal breaker for a huge number of people, and if you're going to tote around a portable one, why not just get a laptop
