The situation is pretty uninspiring right now for sure...that said, it is December--less than halfway through the season--and as we all know, a high playoff seed means next to nothing. Eight seeded teams have made the conference finals many times and have gone all the way to the finals at least twice that I can recall in recent years (2005 Oilers and 2010 Flyers). None of which makes it any easier to watch crap play right now, but it is a bit early to be sticking ones head in the oven.
