I think it might have been an ESPN story... basically the story was saying that with 30 teams, the scheduling process is getting to be too big for just two people, and it'd be best for baseball if they'd drop the husband/wife and go with a firm that can dedicate more time to figuring out how to put the schedule together in a more economical way.
They could have a computer simulation model put the thing together, fairly easily I would think once the model is built.
