Just got a letter from the Wizards (dated this past Monday) informing STH on the monthly payment plan (similar to Nats 'Grand Slam' or Caps Power Pay) that they'll stop charging participants in this programme for now.

Couple this with Stern's statement earlier this week that they're going to start cancelling regular season matches (the full pre-season has now been scrubbed) if they don't get a deal done by this coming Monday, and it's not looking too good....

According to Michael Lee at WashingtonPost.com, this is how much the Wizards players stand to lose from the cancellation of the first two weeks of the season:

"Rashard Lewis $1,824,282.35

Andray Blatche $530,524.48

John Wall $455,418.35

Nick Young $304,364.69*

Jan Vesely $216,917.64**

JaVale McGee $202,785.80

Kevin Seraphin $138,382.59

Trevor Booker $106,640.47

Chris Singleton $105,098.82***

Jordan Crawford $92,271.53

Othyus Jeffers $87,235.89*

Hamady Ndiaye $79,377.69*

Larry Owens $79,377.69*

Shelvin Mack $40,367.76****

TOTAL: $3,712,689.80"

It won't be long before we read stories about some of them having to sell their fifth, or even fourth cars, just to make their mortgage payments!
