But, no, it's not a must-win.
Every game is a must win. "You play the game to win."
I would argue there are no must-wins when you have no shot of making the playoffs.
And I would argue you're wasting your time watching and/or playing the game if you don't go all out every game.
And I would agree with you and believe this is not a counter to my point

Still not convinced of Zimmermann's holiness. He is racking up the losses and that ERA is climbing and there are a bunch of stats (that Linty likes to point out) that he really isn't excelling in to be successful. Will he be a good pitcher? Probably. A back-up to Strasburg? I am losing that faith.
Yep. What's really worrying me is that Zimmermann seems to have that bona fide beast stuff that was promised to us, but he doesn't pitch like a beast. He's going after grounders and trying to nibble and be deceptive and clever, rather than just beating the crap out of opponents. The result is a mediocre player.
