cordero's problem in a nutshell is that he no longer has the ability to throw strikes. two years ago if a batter took a pitch it was a strike. no longer. its not fair to the starters to have him in a game with less than a 2 run lead.
I think whatever he had going for him back then...was figured out by the batters & scouts at the end of 05.  Ever since then he's been searching to find something new - and unfortunately hasn't had much success.
