So while Guzman continues to be ice cold, he'll get every start while Kennedy never gets another shot. Awesome!
what a shock. a fellow who can't hit righties is cold because he gets string of starts against. . . righties.
He has had 5 starts in a row against righties. Scherzer, Verlander, Bonderman, Floyd, and Peavy. He has gotten 4 hits in that time. One was against a lefty reliever, two others were "weak groundballs" per B-R game logs, and yesterday was a bunt. In fairness, he also had a walk against Scherzer. So, in 19 PAs v. RHP (Matt
Thornton also got him), he got on 4 times, 3 times on weak contact or bunts.
In the past 2 days, in 7 PAs vs. righties, he has not seen a 3 pitch in any at bats. That avoids strikeouts
, but does not let RZ or the others behind him see many pitches or make the opposing starter work.
