Did the Nats really bat Livan in that spot? Why not use one of your 10 OF as pinch hitters? Take him out of the game. We need to save him so that he won't collapse before June.
...or it's a close game and you just saved a pinch hitter/defensive replacement for late in the game. Livan's a good enough hitter to essentially have him pinch hit for himself.
