Livan Hernandez, RHP (8-8, 5.70) The big right-hander turned in another strong effort in Thursday's 6-5 victory over the Giants. This will be his second straight start against San Francisco -- providing he doesn't get dealt before July 31. He's been the ace of the Washington staff and made it very clear after his last game that he'd really love to stay in the District.
@Matt Cain, RHP (7-7, 4.87)Cain was effective through his first six innings of action against Washington in his last outing before he took the hill in the seventh. The right-hander walked three batters, paving the way for Nick Johnson's two-RBI single, putting the Nationals up for good and sending Cain to his seventh loss of the year. Cain showed control problems in his last outing, walking five Washington hitters and hitting one.
