Why do you hate PA so much 
although Rolling Rock is made by the evil Coors company now. Yuengling (according to wikipedia), is the only pre-Prohibition style American lager in mass production today. So it's awesome 
I don't hate PA at all, Shiner Bock is Texas anyway.

The beer is not even a real Bock beer. I lived in Texas for two years, and people are crazy about Shiner beers. They are also crazy about Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, and JC Penney. What do these things have in common? They are Texas based companies, and Texans are complete suckers for home state stuff. I was really excited to taste a Shiner Bock for the first time, as I love dark flavorful beers, but after the first taste, I was sorely disappointed. Like they took a regular beer and put caramel coloring in it. I did not like it at all.
I had brief rolling rock phase, then one day I woke up and wondered what the hell I was thinking. I think PA folks like Yeungling and Rolling Rock because they are made in PA and have clever marketing, not because they have decent taste.
Here are the Yeungling tasting notes, a little better than Shiner Bock, and I agree with that:

I like what it says under the picture of a full bottle: "Displayed for educational use only; do not reuse."
Sorry to sound so harsh, I'm pretty agreeable generally, but I can't let future generations be fooled into accepting the Shiner Bock myth.
