Back in the early 60's, Old Town was very seedy and run down, not the gentrified tourist attraction it is today. Probably the closest thing in the DC area to a San Fransisco seedy foggy waterfront docks ambience.
Morrison's father was an Admiral, stationed in DC for awhile.
