I hate off days, thank god there's baseball tonight.  I'm gonna be so upset when this season is over, even if it's been a crappy one.  Baseball is the greatest sport and we've made a lot of progress over the last month.

Record since "Youth Movement" began on August 1st: 18-20.

Not bad considering there was a nasty 12-game losing streak in that stretch.

So other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

This team just needs to become more consistent. They are too streaky. In that 38 game stretch they had a 6-1 stretch, an 0-12 stretch, and an 8-1 stretch.

Need to just focus on winning series. No reason we can't take 2 of 3 from Florida and then maybe 3 of 4 from the Mutts next week at home.

agreed. 2/3 vs the Marlins is realistic. i'm already eagerly anticipating the season series finale vs the Mutts.

i predict Dukes will have a 3 hr series in front of his family and friends (they were in attendance last time). one routine multi-homer game.

I can't believe we are playing some of the last games of the season. Life is going to be so cold without baseball. I guess that's why we play hockey in the meantime. ;)

Anyone else notice Darth Vader hanging out on the 16th in the schedule? For some new video game.

i may actually pick up that game.  It's no Call of Duty 4 though.

There are times when I could actually flip that statement.  I absolutely love college hockey's conference play.  I go to as many games as I can.

Martis is facing a pretty tough lineup in his first start w/ us. He definitely needs to keep the walks to a minimum.

2nd start. It is a tough lineup. I think he'll rack up some Ks but will give up a few long balls.

Holy crap. I must have missed more games than I thought. I thought it had been a while since I first heard he was going to start for us. :?

He started the night the Redskins lost to the Giants.

That makes sense. I guess a lot of people missed it.

The Marlins have always been a monkey, I mean fish, on the Nats back. We need to buck'em.

Scott Olsen is 0-6 with a 6.08 ERA over his last 9 starts.

Guess we all know what that means...  :bang:

I say we score 5 runs tonight.
I don't think that will be enough to win this one.

The Force Unleashed.

interesting. that seems like a title more fit for Dukes when he crushes a homer!
