I'm not the GM. I wouldn't have him on the team if I was, but regardless, he will be. So logistically it makes no sense to send a guy to Ohio and then bring him back to Washington in 3 days. They like what he has done with the bad, and apparently he is a good fielder, although I haven't seen much to this effect.
I don't see him being on the team next year regardless. I think guys like Alberto Gonzalez and possibly Anderson Hernandez have a role on this team as a back-up infielder. I'm particularly intrigued by Gonzalez. He swung a mean bat when he was up here along with really nice defense. The hot hitting has apparently carried over to his play in Columbus too.
