"Note also that mad scientist Tony LaRussa placed pitcher Kyle Lohse - batting .303 with two homers in 109 at bats - in the eight hole, ahead of shortstop Caesar Izturis. Perhaps Manny Acta should have considered a similar strategy with Odalis Perez: his .250 batting average is higher than four of the seven players in the Nats' starting lineup who have played a major league game this year. The numbers supporting Washington's current offensive ineptitude remain in endless supply."
